• 2024 Small Business of the Year

    Objective
    To recognize the important role small businesses play in our local economy and honor any business who has demonstrated exemplary “Best Practices.”
    Criteria
    Any for-profit business headquartered in Monroe County. The applicant must be the owner, partner or major shareholder of the business, and active in its day-to-day operations. The business must be financially stable and operational for a minimum of three years. Businesses of Chamber Board of Directors are eligible for consideration. Businesses must have been a member of the Forsyth-Monroe County Chamber of Commerce for at least 3-years. * Awards are based on information relevant to the conclusion of the businesses’ most recent fiscal year.
    Selecting elements of a Small Business of the Year
    The selecting elements are: Business Growth and Performance - Sound Business Strategies and Practices - Customer Service Strategies and Practices - Business Challenges - Unique and Innovative Approaches - Community Involvement and Contribution - Employee Relations
    Selection Process
    Businesses will be notified that they have been nominated and will be asked to fill out and return a more in-depth application. After reviewing all applications, a committee will choose three finalists. A minimum of one member from the committee will do an on-site visit. The winner will be announced at the Chamber's Annual Meeting in January.
    Recognition
    Two complimentary reservations to the Chamber’s Annual Meeting Recognition at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting Small Business of the Year Award to display in your place of business Highlighted on the Chamber’s website as Award Recipient Recognition in the Chamber’s newsletter and future marketing materials
    Timeline
    Nomination Deadline is January 5, 2025 Winner will be announced at the Chamber's Annual Meeting held January 17, 2025.
