• 2024 Citizen of the Year

    Objective
    To recognize a Monroe County Citizen who exemplifies good citizenship through civic activities, business involvement, a contribution to the community, and general leadership.
    Criteria
    A Monroe County resident. Meets all of the objectives. Leadership should be recognized and service involvement performed during the nomination calendar year, but may be a result of cumulative activities. Nominations shall not be precluded from consideration based on their political affiliation, activity, candidacy or incumbency, providing that candidates are not selected during the sixty days preceding a general election.
    Selection Process
    The Chamber Chairperson will appoint a committee, to include the Editor of the Monroe County Reporter, to review the nominations and select a Citizen of the Year.
    Recognition
    Recognition in the Chamber’s newsletter, and future marketing materials Highlighted on the Chamber’s website as an award recipient Recognized at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting Recognized in the Monroe County Reporter Master of Ceremonies at the Hometown Holidays Parade Citizen of the Year award to display
    Timeline
    Nomination Deadline is January 5, 2025 Winner will be announced at the Chamber's Annual Meeting held January 17, 2025.
